Group Fitness Instructor Prep Course (open to currently enrolled UM students only)

Description: The objective of this course is to prepare prep course students in feeling confident teaching many different modalities of group fitness, to deliver a quality experience to their future class participants, prepare to take and pass their ACE certification exam and potentially audition to become a group fitness instructor with Ole Miss Campus Recreation. The course will provide base knowledge in group fitness fundamentals, class preparation and design, elements of leading various classes and much more! An online blackboard class will also be utilized for the course information and weekly assignments, along with a hybrid classroom format including zoom calls and in person meetings. Zoom call schedule and in person meeting will be determined weekly, as the class progresses. Prep course participants should expect to cover a minimum of two chapters weekly and have weekly and written assignments to complete outside of the scheduled class meeting times.
