UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

The Faculty Recital Series concert for Monday, February 18 brings together three different timbres: violin, clarinet and piano. The trio of Selim Giray, Michael Rowlett and Adrienne Park will perform two well-known repertoire pieces for this combination: the light-hearted Suite by Darius Milhaud and Bela Bartok’s intense work, Contrasts. In addition, each of the three performers will perform solo works by contemporary women composers: Amanda Harberg’s Sonata for clarinet; Stephanie Ann Boyd’s Lilac for solo piano; and Margaret Ada Sutherland’s Sonatina and Nocturne for violin.

The recital is at 7:30 on Monday, February 18th in Nutt Auditorium.

Tickets are $10, $5 for children and anyone with a UM ID, and are available at the UM Box Office or at the door.  

Eligible for Mus100 and Mus103 credit.
