From toppling dictators in the Middle East to complaining about bad replacement referees in the NFL, Twitter has become an indispensible source of breaking news and collective conversation. It is an essential tool for journalists seeking to stay aware of what is going on and to share their stories with the widest possible audience. This session will cover some strategies for reporters seeking to use Twitter to cultivate sources, cover a live event or breaking news, establish themselves as a go-to source of information on their beat, uncover good story ideas, interact with readers, and promote their work.
