Dr. Eva-Maria Graf, professor of English and American Studies at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria, will deliver a talk on “Representations of Gendered Identities and Ideologies in Austrian Secondary Textbooks”. Dr. Graf will address how these identities and ideologies are represented in textbooks used for English instruction in Austrian schools. Her focus will be on methodological challenges faced by researchers looking into linguistic representations of gender and where to draw the line between “gender discourse” and “gendered discourse.”
