Oxford Civic Chorus with Mockingbird Ensemble

This holiday season the Oxford Civic Chorus will join with Oxford’s Mockingbird Early Music Ensemble to present a joint concert of the Gloria in D Major, by Antonio Vivaldi, and other pieces of the Baroque Era. The concert, titled “A Festive Baroque Christmas,” will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, in Nutt Auditorium on the University of Mississippi campus. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. They are available from chorus members and at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center on University Avenue. Tickets will also be sold at the door on the afternoon of the performance.

The Oxford Civic Chorus, founded in 1998, is an excellent group of musicians from the Oxford/North Mississippi area. The chorus presents two major concerts per year and participates in a variety of community events year-round. New singers are invited to join in August or January when auditions are held. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7-8:30 pm, August to May. For more information about the Oxford Civic Chorus, visit .
