Please join us for the second annual Howry Lecture in Faulkner Studies on Monday, March 21 at 7:00 PM in Bondurant Hall 204C. This event, sponsored by the Department of English and the Howry endowment in Faulkner Studies, is free and open to the general public. The speaker is Sharon P. Holland, Townsend Ludington Distinguished Professor and chair of American Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. A noted authority in the fields of African American studies, queer studies, and animal studies, Professor Holland is the author of Raising the Dead: Readings of Death and (Black) Subjectivity (2000) and The Erotic Life of Racism (2012) and the coauthor of Crossing Waters / Crossing Worlds: The African Diaspora in Indian Country (2006). The title of her lecture is "How to Tell a Story about a Horse."
