Sonic Explorations is a chamber series launched by Artistic Director Adrienne Park at the University of Mississippi. Themed concerts focus on a genre, region, or set of composers, exploring the sound world of that theme. Central to concert events is the use of multi-media —projected film, art, and poetry— with unique lighting designs and innovative stage positions. This series shines a spotlight on University of Mississippi faculty and students as well as musicians from within the region.

Sonic Explorations, Concert 6—The Peace Chronicles, Part 2 features the Blueshift Ensemble performing six works for piano and woodwinds by ICEBERG New Music composers. The concert will also feature the poetry of Dr. Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz.

UM faculty members pianist Adrienne Park, bassoonist Susanna Whitney, and oboist Austin Smith will join flutists Delara Hashemi and Jenny Davis, clarinetists Andre Dyachenko and Jonathan Webber, and UM alum Stellah Mbugua to present an evening of contemporary music.

This performance counts as concert credit for Mus 100 and Mus 103.

Free admission.
