Ole Miss Theatre proudly announces its reading of Dustin Lance Black's new play "8", performing Friday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Joining Nationwide productions of landmark marriage equality play by Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Milk and J. Edgar, Ole Miss Theatre faculty, students and Ole Miss law faculty will be staging a reading of “8”, an unprecedented account of the Federal District Court trial in Perry v. Schwarzenegger (now Hollingsworth v. Perry), the case filed by AFER to overturn Proposition 8, which stripped gay and lesbian Californians of the fundamental freedom to marry. The play is based on the actual words of the trial transcripts, first-hand observations of the courtroom drama and interviews with the plaintiffs and their families. Free Admission. NO TICKET REQUIRED!
