Spend two weeks in beautiful Dubrovnik, Croatia – the “pearl of the Adriatic” – studying the issues of international cooperation and conflict. Positioned on the stunning Dalmatian coast, Dubrovnik is a medieval walled city that will lend itself to in-depth study about international security and cooperation. Students will engage with policy makers, locals, and learn about the political history of the region while developing and presenting their own research project. As part of the program, we will travel to multi-confessional Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina – where the spires of Catholic cathedrals, Orthodox churches, and mosques dot the skyline. Various excursions around Dubrovnik and Sarajevo will occur, such as wine tasting in Korcula and visiting the Elaphiti Islands. Course: “Security and Cooperation in Southeastern Europe (POL-398).”
