A concert honoring William Grant Still will be performed Tuesday the 18th at 7:30 in Nutt Auditorium as part of UM's Black History Month celebration.
The concert program will focus on Still's instrumental music, which is "very beautiful and very Southern," according to Jiwon Lee, a graduate music student from Oxford who will perform Tuesday night. "It's unusual to hear this much of his instrumental work in one concert," she says. "It's a rare opportunity and I hope people will come out and really listen." The program features ensembles as well as faculty and student soloists.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
