UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES


The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

The University of Mississippi Division of Diversity and Community Engagement invites the university community to an open discussion with guest speakers addressing the benefits of diversity and inclusion for organizations, contemporary issues in higher education, and a facilitated community conversation about campus climate.

SCHEDULE:

8:30 - 9:00 a.m.: Opening Remarks

9:00 - 10:00 a.m.:  Keynote Address - Importance of Diversity and Inclusion for Organizations

Dr. Scott E. Page, University of Michigan  Leonid Hurwicz Collegiate Professor of Complex Systems, Political Science, and Economics

10:00 - 10:30 a.m.: Contemporary Issues in Higher Education

Dr. Kevin McDonald, University of Missouri - Columbia  Vice Chancellor of Inclusion, Diversity, & Equity

10:30 - 11:00 a.m.: Panel Discussion with Dr. Scott E. Page, Dr. Kevin McDonald, Mrs. Shawnboda Mead and Dr. Katrina Caldwell (University of Mississippi Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Community Engagement) as the moderator.

11:00 - 12:00 p.m.: Campus Climate Dialogue facilitated by Mrs. Shawnboda Mead
