UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES


The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Stark Raving Pumpkin Carving Competition

It’s Fall, y’all, and the UM Museum is getting festive this Halloween! Enter the UM Museum’s first ever pumpkin carving contest for a chance to win prizes and be featured on our social media! Fun for all ages! 

Here’s How:

  1. Pre-register here by Friday, October 23.

  2. BYOP (Bring your own pumpkin)! Obtain a pumpkin of appropriate size and beauty to be worthy of your artistic skills.

  3. Carve or paint said pumpkin into a creative masterpiece.

  4. Deliver your pumpkin to the Walton-Young House!

 Pumpkins will be displayed on the Walton-Young House front lawn all Halloween Weekend! Spectators are encouraged to stop by or drive-thru to check out our ‘Haunted’ Historic House and our contest entries. Please remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing!

Winners announced on social media on Saturday, October 31. May the best pumpkins win!

Entry Fee: $3 members, $5 non-members

Pre-registration is required

Registration closes Friday, October 23

Rules/logistics:

  1. Pre-register by Friday, October 23.

  2. Pumpkins may be carved, painted, or sculpted.

  3. Must be family friendly.

  4. Pumpkin must be dropped off to the Walton-Young House. Drop off will be contactless
