Five members of the music faculty will perform a short, free concert in the Circle from 12:15-12:45 on Tuesday, October 13th. This safe performance will start with a short piece by Francis Poulenc, and then will feature Nat Evans's "Music for Breathing."
The music features woodwind instruments, played in traditional and nontraditional ways, as well as conch shells and rocks. Thrilled to be performing live again, the musicians say "Music for Breathing" is perfect for an outdoor setting, and Tuesday promises to be a lovely day.
Listeners will be able to spread out around the Circle and still be able to hear and see the performers, said Michael Rowlett, who plays clarinet.
The UM Faculty Woodwind Quintet includes Nave Graham (flute), Austin Smith (oboe), Michael Rowlett (clarinet), Leander Star (French horn), and Adam Estes (bassoon).
