Jazz Combos at Proud Larry's
Tuesday, October 12th
No cover

Join us at Proud Larry's this Tuesday for jazz music from UM Jazz Combos. Grab a table or stand around the edges. Enjoy a beverage or even some supper. Whatever you do, you'll love the music!

The Mississippians Jazz Ensemble director Michael Worthy says that two student combos will perform jazz standards that they’ve arranged. One of the combos will be trying out repertoire that they’ll be performing at the JENerations Jazz Festival in Dallas in January. The students are also members of the Mississippians and the Collegians Jazz Ensembles.

A “traditional jazz” ensemble will be making its debut, and will include Michael Rowlett, Rafael Picklesimer, Michael Worthy, Kevin Cole, Cameron Geranios, and Ricky Burkhead.

The UM Faculty Jazz Quintet featuring Daniel Roebuck, Michael Worthy, Kevin Cole, Slade Lewis, and Ricky Burkhead will close.

"Scott Caradine and the staff at Proud Larry’s are very supportive of live music on the Oxford Square," says Worthy, "and have given us the opportunity to make sure that jazz is part of Oxford’s live music scene. With tables up close to the stage and plenty of standing room, Proud Larry’s is a great venue for this event."

No ticket required, no cover, no reason not to make plans now for Jazz Combos on October 12th.
