Faculty Recital Series: The Lyrical Baritone, 7:30 Tues

Invitation: Adam Estes performs four pieces that demonstrate the lyrical nature of the baritone saxophone, joined by Adrienne Park on piano. MUS100/103

Adam Estes takes up the baritone saxophone, with Adrienne Park on piano, to perform four pieces that highlight the lyricism of this instrument.

The bari sax has long been utilized as an "ensemble" member, the bass voice of the woodwind family. Estes has adapted four outstanding works by Chaminade, Beethoven, Burhans, and Saint-Saëns, to demonstrate the distinct and attractive sound of this instrument as a solo voice.
