At noon on Friday, March 25 Sam Wang presents his virtual SouthTalk: Persistent Discoveries Photography Exhibition and Talk. There will be adiscussion between Wang, South Carolina-based photographer and Clemson University Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Visual Arts, and Southern Documentary Project producer/director John Rash concerning the retrospective exhibition of Sam’s photographs which will be on display in the Gammill Gallery in Barnard Observatory. Rash curated the exhibition and also produced an accompanying 25-minute documentary film about Wang which has been screening as part of the traveling exhibition and is currently in the national film festival circuit.
SouthTalks is a series of events (including lectures, performances, film screenings, and panel discussions) that explores the interdisciplinary nature of Southern Studies. This series is free and open to the public, and typically takes place in the Tupelo Room of Barnard Observatory.
