While there are many ethical issues in our society, some issues are so important, affect so many people, and are deeply connected to so many of our other beliefs, actions, and policies that they become the focus of our society and our collective conversation: these are the great debates of our time.

This year’s topic (access the case here) examines the recent US Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade and examines the variance of state laws and the role of corporations. Our question for this year is:

“Is it ethically responsible for companies to hire women

and operate in states where abortion is illegal?”

Please join us for an analysis of the case and presentation of issues by the UM Ethics Bowl team. Following the debate analysis, we’ll open up for audience conversation with the teams in a Q&A session. We hope the conversation will continue throughout the following reception.
