We're screening three influential films from the 90s in the CICCE this semester! Join us at 5:30pm next Tuesday, March 28 for the second installment of the 90's Throwback Movie Series, "The Watermelon Woman."

"The Watermelon Woman" is a 1996 romantic comedy-drama film written, directed, and edited by Cheryl Dunye. It stars Dunye as Cheryl, a young black lesbian working a day job in a video store while trying to make a film about a black actress from the 1930s known for playing the stereotypical "mammy" roles relegated to black actresses during the period. Be sure to stay through the end for the exciting plot twist in this film!
