The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Lectures: The Black Death was the worst pandemic in recorded history. How did medieval writers portray it in literature?

The "Great Pestilience" (1336-53) -- a.k.a. "the Black Death," the worst pandemic in human history -- coincided with the flowering of European vernacular literature, Graduate students in English and Creative Writing (Diego Fleitas, Sayantani Mukherjee, Michael Portacoloni, and Nicholas Sumrall) will discuss how medieval pandemic influenced famous writers such as Petrarch, Boccaccio, and Chaucer as well as inspired a general literary fascination with morbid subjects and macabre imagery.
