Artist’s Statement: In 2020, the pandemic disrupted countless lives and caused feelings of anxiety, isolation, and grief. My family, like many others, turned to nature for comfort and peace during this difficult time. My daughter and I spent countless hours walking in the woods, finding solace and refuge in the beauty of the natural world. These walks allowed us to reflect on the complexities of life, including death and loss. However, they also provided us with a creative outlet and a source of hope. As a result of our shared experiences, we began a photographic collaboration that we called “Year of Wandering.”
