UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Personal Trainer Prep Course (for currently enrolled UM students)

February 5th-April 29th | Mondays 3:30 - 5:00 pm

The objective of this course is to prepare prep course students in attaining the base knowledge needed to begin a part-time career in personal training. This course should prepare individuals with a basic knowledge in human anatomy, kinesiology, exercise physiology, nutrition, and the ability to apply these in order to deliver quality health and fitness programs for clients. This course, along with additional individual preparation, should give course participants the confidence to sit and pass their ACE PT certification exam. An online blackboard class will also be utilized for the course information and assignments, along with in-person meetings. A mock personal training client process toward the end of the course will be used for those individuals who are interested in working as a PT for Ole Miss Campus Recreation.
