UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Love Data Week: Microsoft Excel Workshop Series - Visualizing Data

Microsoft Excel is a basic spreadsheet program that can be used for visualizing data. In this workshop, you will learn:

  • how to move (sort, transpose, etc.) data to work with your chosen visualization
  • how to create several type of graphs (at minimum, bar charts, line charts, and scatter plots)
  • how to customize your visualization (data labels, legends, titles, colors)
  • how to export your visualization

Thought not required, introductory knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., information covered in the Microsoft Excel Basics workshop) will be helpful for this workshop. You are not required to attend other sessions in the Microsoft Workshop Series.
