UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES


The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Library: Free workshop to learn Japanese paper marbling known as Suminagashi, or 'floating ink,' as part of Archives current exhibit More Than Words.

Paper Marbling Workshop

In this workshop, participants will learn Japanese paper marbling. Known as Suminagashi, or “floating ink,” this technique uses water and ink to create beautiful and unique patterns.

 

Kaleena Stasiak recently joined the Department of Art + Art History at the University of Mississippi as Area Head and Assistant Professor of Art in Printmaking. She is an interdisciplinary artist with an MFA in Printmaking & Book Arts from the University of Georgia. In her work, she uses an assortment of haptic media to explore collective mythmaking, and its relevance to the present day.

This workshop is free, but registration is required ensure everyone in attendance will get the opportunity to try their hand at marbling.
