UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Description: Since the arrival of ChatGPT on our campuses, much attention has been paid to how generative AI will affect student essays and writing in general. But what about disciplines in which writing is not the primary focus? How will generative AI impact teaching and learning in STEM courses specifically? This roundtable will provide a brief overview of AI in higher education STEM pedagogy and a forum for discussion about both the benefits and the challenges this emerging technology presents for STEM classrooms. 

Registered participants will receive session materials in advance, including a brief, optional pre-reading that will lay the groundwork for our discussion.
