UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

The Univeristy of Mississippi Libraries (UML) offers access to Kanopy: a streaming video service that offers access to over 30,000 films, including from well-known providers like Janus Films, Kino Lorber, and Media Education Foundation.

At this session, you will learn:

  • a general overview of how the University of Missisippi Libraries (UML) provides access to streaming video
  • how to create video clips and playlists
  • how to embed playlists in Blackboard
  • how to search for videos with public performance rights (PPR)
  • a general overview of Kanopy's business model and the costs UML incurs to provide access; as well as how that influences what is and is not available on Kanopy
