We are offering a viewing of the sky with our telescopes in Kennon Observatory on May 12, Sunday night, 8:00-9:00 pm.
The Moon is always great; the planets are not visible this time. We’ll look at a number of double stars instead. (No planets are up at this time.)
The event is free, families are welcome.
Viewing is not possible when the sky is cloudy - if that happens we’ll have to cancel and ask everyone to come back Set. 5 for another try, when Saturn is returning.
At the same time, We will host an Astronomy Public Talk on Sunday, May 12th at 8:00 pm in Lewis 101 (please see the attached poster). Mr. Luiz Ricardo Prais, one of our graduate students at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, will tell us about fascinating neutrinos and how they help us reveal the secrets of our Universe.
