We are offering a viewing of the sky with our telescopes in Kennon Observatory on Sept. 8, Sunday night, 7:30-8:30 pm.
The Moon is always great; the only planet visible at this time is Saturn, but it comes up late and only visible at the end of the event. We’ll look at a number of double stars and the Ring Nebula instead.
The event is free, families are welcome.
At the same time, we have Astronomy Trivia in Lewis 101 - this part is rain or shine! (see the attached poster!)
Viewing is not possible when the sky is cloudy - if that happens we’ll have to cancel and ask everyone to come back Oct. 13 for another try.
